Body recovered at Wallace Falls

A body was recovered at Wallace Falls on Saturday, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Wallace Falls State Park is a mile northeast of Gold Bar in Snohomish County.

Around 8 p.m. on Friday, a park ranger was told by a woman that she was hiking with her friend and they became separated on the trail.

The woman was unsure of her friend’s whereabouts.

Snohomish County deputies and rescue teams responded to assist with the search on Friday, but were unable to find the missing woman.

On Saturday, searchers found the woman’s body downriver from the Wallace Falls trail.

The body of the 25-year-old woman from New Jersey was recovered with assistance from the Swiftwater Rescue Team.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office believes the two hikers were under the influence of mushrooms.

Her death appears to be accidental.
