SEATTLE, Wash. — Nearly 400 Boeing employees in Washington will be laid off in February 2025.
The Washington Employee Security Department made the announcement Monday.
The layoffs impact 396 employees at the company’s locations in Auburn, Bremerton, Everett, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Kent, Puyallup, Renton, Seattle, and Tukwila.
Their last day will be February 21 according to the news release.
The aerospace company has not said which types of jobs are being cut.
This is the latest round of layoffs at Boeing.
On Friday, SPEEA, the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace, said the company sent out 222 notices to the employees it represents.
Last month, the aerospace company issued 438 notices to SPEEA-represented employees.
There is no word how many of those positions are in Washington.
Boeing announced plans earlier this year to cut 10% of its workforce as it deals with a myriad of financial troubles, stemming from the 7-week machinists’ strike, the lawsuits from the Alaska Airlines door plug blowout, and the deadly 737 MAX crashes from 2018, and 2019.
