Bomb threat evacuates Walmart in Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES, Wash. — Deputies are investigating after a bomb threat evacuated a Walmart in Port Angeles Friday afternoon.

After 4 p.m., investigators said a man called the store at 3411 East Kolonels Way claiming he had placed several bombs inside the store and was able to detonate them remotely.

Clallam County deputies responded to the scene and immediately evacuated the store.

Deputies searched the store and didn’t find any suspicious devices.

The Washington State Patrol bomb squad also responded and searched the perimeter and inside of the building.

No explosive devices or explosive materials were found.

The store was turned over to Walmart management at about 10 p.m.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
