Three deputies injured during high-speed chase of stolen car in Snohomish County

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash on Highway 2 in Monroe on Tuesday morning.

A Seattle man was arrested, and three Snohomish County deputies were treated for minor injuries.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a vehicle theft report in the 12000 block of 316th Avenue Southeast around 6:00 a.m. and quickly located the stolen vehicle.

The pursuit traveled west on Highway 2 before deputies deployed spike strips, bringing the vehicle to a stop in the 14200 block of the highway.

During the chase, a collision occurred between patrol vehicles, leading to minor injuries for three deputies, who were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, an adult male, was also transported to the hospital for minor injuries before being booked into Snohomish County Jail on charges of eluding, second-degree assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and later released.

Highway 2 remains closed between Westwick Road and Roosevelt Road SE while the investigation continues.
