SEATTLE — Police are investigating a fatal shooting in downtown Seattle.
It happened near First Avenue and Battery Street in the Belltown neighborhood at about 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Police said the victim, a 32-year-old man, was talking to someone in a car and was shot by someone in that car. The vehicle then fled east on Battery Street.
The victim, who was shot several times, died at the scene.
A witness reported waking up to the sound of six to eight gunshots.
There is no suspect information at this time.
Anyone with information, particularly about any vehicles seen leaving the area, is asked to call the Seattle Police Department tip line at 206-233-5000.
