SEATTLE, Wash. — Burgermaster is closing its flagship location in Seattle’s University District after 73 years.
The business announced the decision on social media Wednesday morning.
“This location has been more than just a restaurant; it has been a place where memories were made—first dates, late-night study sessions, and quick bites before Husky games,” the post reads.
The restaurant was built in 1952 by Phil Jensen and is still owned and operated by his family.
“To our loyal patrons, thank you for your unwavering support and for making this location so special. You are a part of the Burgermaster story, and we are forever grateful,” the post states.
The University District will close at the end of February.
Burgermaster has five other locations: Seattle’s Aurora restaurant, Bellevue, Issaquah, Mill Creek, and Mount Vernon.
