Burglary suspect arrested after smashing through business door with empty beer keg, police say

SEATTLE — A 44-year-old man was arrested early Sunday on investigation of burglary in Seattle’s International District.

Around 4:50 a.m., police said they received reports of a noise complaint in the 600 block of South Jackson Street.

When police were investigating, they said the suspect broke the front glass of the business from inside with an empty beer keg.

Police said the 44-year-old man was quickly arrested and was booked into the King County Jail on investigation of burglary.

The arrest was one of two arrests made in connection with burglaries of closed businesses over the weekend, police said.

Police said around 9 a.m. Saturday they received a report of a broken window at a businesses located in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue, located near Pioneer Square.

When officers arrived at the scene, they said they were able to get video from a nearby business that showed the burglary.

Police said a suspect in the video was then located nearby.

The suspect identified himself as the person seen on video crawling out of the business through a broken front door while holding stolen items, police said.

The 43-year-old man was booked into the King County Jail on investigation of burglary.
