Man arrested in UW sorority house break-in

SEATTLE — Safety concerns are growing from students and parents following a second break-in early Thursday morning near the University of Washington.

A 38-year-old man was arrested after police said he broke into the Chi Omega house, located in the 4500 block of 18th Ave. NE about 3 a.m.

Police said the man broke a window, sprayed a fire extinguisher, broke a mirror, toilet lid and two glass tables.

The man was still inside the house when officers arrived. He was arrested for burglary.

This incident comes after police arrested a man suspected of raping a student near Greek Row earlier this week.

Police said he broke into the victim’s home early Sunday morning. According to police, the victim woke up with a man she didn’t know who was assaulting her.

The victim woke to Brandon Robinson, according to court documents. She forced him out and then called police.

While the victim was at the hospital getting a rape kit done, police said Robinson returned for his shoes and that is when the victim’s roommates took a photo of him and then alerted police.

Robinson was arrested Tuesday night after an officer recognized him as a man he had contacted around 2 a.m. for allegedly looking into women’s windows.

On Thursday, a judge set Robinson’s bail $500,000.
