BURIEN, Wash. — The Burien Severe Weather says it will stay open through the weekend as temperatures plummet.
However, it’s in desperate need of volunteers and donations.
The shelter says it needs men’s underwear and sweatpants in sizes large and extra-large.
“Stretchy pants will fit more people and will be the most useful for our guests,” the shelter wrote online.
The shelter is also looking for rolls and other food items for a dinner menu.
“Please keep checking in to see what is needed as we get supper menus from our dinner leads,” the shelter asked.
If you’re interested in volunteering, you can send an email here: shelter.highlineumc@gmail.com.
The shelter says the forecast will determine whether it will extend its operation hours into next week.
