The founder spent the last three years living in Japan and Vietnam, where she fell in love with cat café culture. And with 10 years in the restaurant industry, with her return to Seattle, it seemed to be a natural thing to do.

The café, which boasts the “cutest kitties on Capitol Hill,” has partnered with Regional Animal Services of King County to offer adoptable cats.

Neko has seven to 12 cats, and because they want to help cats that need it the most, all have been diagnosed with FeLV, or Feline Leukemia Virus. It can weaken a cat’s immune system and can predispose them to developing other conditions.

The café strongly recommends booking a reservation for the cat room, which runs $10 an hour.  As of the posting of this article, there were still spots available.

The cat room is also able to be booked for happy hours, private parties and other events.
