Centralia officer fatally shoots man during domestic dispute call

A Centralia Police officer shot and killed a man during a physical altercation following a domestic dispute call, according to the Centralia Police Department.

On Sunday, at approximately 10:56 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of North Ash Street.

After arriving on the scene, the first officer got into a physical fight with a male subject.

The officer discharged their firearm, striking the subject.

The man received emergency medical treatment at the scene but was pronounced dead.

The officer was also injured in the fight.

No bystanders were injured and the involved officer was placed on leave.

The OII will release the names of the involved officers, and the Lewis County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased.
