An active period of weather came through Western Washington with rain, wind and lowland snow.
Communities across the North Sound woke up to snow on Sunday morning. The heaviest snow fell in a convergence zone around Marysville and Arlington where some locations saw more than four inches.

As snow showers taper off Sunday afternoon and evening, colder and drier air spilling south will bring another possibility -- ice on roadways for Monday morning.

Ice threat in wet areas
We’re going to start to see some cold air funnel in, that will drop overnight lows down into the low 20s in some locations.
For Monday morning, there could be areas of ice, especially near areas that saw several inches of snow Sunday, because whatever doesn’t melt froze overnight. We’ll see crystal clear skies but highs will only be in the mid to upper 30s. I’m expecting to see mainly dry conditions until Thursday with another chance we could see a morning mix of snow and rain. A weak system does brush by Tuesday afternoon, but there won’t be much precipitation associated with it by the times moves inland.
