City of Tacoma resumes glass recycling

TACOMA, Wash. — The city of Tacoma is resuming glass recycling at drop-off locations.

Back in September, the city announced that all collected glass would be heading to the landfill. The city says its glass recycling vendor temporarily stopped accepting glass because of unexpected changes in the international glass market.

But now, the city says it has found a solution with a company called ‘Glass to Glass’ in Portland.

Officials say that this will ensure that Tacoma’s glass is recycled into new products, and give the community a reinvigorated opportunity for sustainability.
