MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. — A Maple Valley man is showing support for police after the Baton Rouge and Dallas shootings with blue painter's tape.
Andy Audette is putting it across the rear windshield of anyone who's interested.
And there have been quite a few takers.
While a KIRO 7 crew was in the neighborhood for just 20 minutes, we saw car after car pull up asking for the makeshift police decal.
“We figured if we started at the community level, in a small community like Maple Valley, we might be able to make a little bit of change. At least showing police officers that we do support them. And 99.9 percent of good people out there will support the police,” said Audette.
Audette says he hasn't received any negative feedback, just questions or concern about what he's doing -- especially as officers are under investigation for fatally shooting black men in Louisiana and Minnesota.
