WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Troopers with Washington State Patrol say a construction worker was killed Tuesday morning by a vehicle working on the same project.
It happened in Whatcom County on East Smith Road and Noon Road.
Just after 9 a.m., troopers say the vehicle was backing down the right shoulder of Eastbound Smith Road when the worker was walking westbound on the same shoulder.
It’s unclear how it happened, but troopers say the vehicle hit the worker, killing him.
The cause is under investigation.
