Convicted sex offender arrested for soliciting a minor in Bellevue

BELLEVUE, Wash. — A Puyallup man was arrested after he solicited a minor for sex, not knowing he was communicating with an undercover Bellevue detective.

The 49-year-old Puyallup man is a four-time convicted sex offender, with convictions involving child molestation and rape of a child.

He’s accused of contacting a “16-year-old boy” on a social media platform and agreeing to pay for sex acts.

The man has been charged with attempted commercial sexual abuse of a minor and communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

The suspect is currently out of jail after a judge set bail at $50,000.
