TUKWILA, Wash. — An argument over a sale landed someone in handcuffs after police say they shot at a car and then crashed.
It all started around 7 p.m. on Sperry Drive in Tukwila.
Police say the victim arranged to meet with the gunman to sell an item, but during the transaction, the potential buyer believed the item was fake, and things quickly escalated.
“The irony here is that both the item for sale and the currency the buyer arrived with to pay for the item were found to be counterfeit,’ Tukwila police wrote online.
Officers say the buyer pulled out a gun and shot at the seller, then sped off. Nobody was hurt.
A short time later, Renton police advised they were at a crash on Grady Way and Rainier Avenue South. It turns out, the cars matched the description of the ones involved in the shooting.
The buyer was booked into King County Jail on an Assault 1st Degree charge and the case was forwarded to the Major Crimes Unit.
