SEATTLE — Seattle Fire Department crews battled a large house fire in the Green Lake area Wednesday afternoon.

The home is just off Aurora Avenue North along Winona Avenue North, across from a PCC Market and a 7-Eleven.

Just before 3 p.m., Seattle Fire reported that their crews “have water on the fire and are making entry into the home to conduct a primary search.”

Not long after that SFD said the fire was under control and no injuries were reported.

We talked to one neighbor that told us her daughter heard a noise that sounded like an explosion and when she went outside she saw massive flames burning.

Neighbors then came together and used their own garden hoses to help keep the fire from spreading.

The homeowner, Steve Lamb, told us he and his wife rent out the home through Airbnb.

He said the renters were not in the house at the time and that Airbnb will be providing them with another place to stay.

“We’ve had a lot of great memories here,” said Lamb. “We lived here for 12 years before we started renting it out, it’s my wife and I’s first house where we raised our kids, had a lot of gatherings with a lot of friends, a lot of great memories.”
