KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. — Officials with the Department of Natural Resources announced Sunday that the Gold Creek Fire has been fully contained after it burned 2.3 acres.
The wildland fire started Saturday in the Green Mountain area near the Gold Creek trailhead in Kitsap County.
Air and ground crews responded to the scene as the fire had burned a quarter of an acre.
At about 10:21 a.m. Sunday, officials reported the fire was about 75% contained as 2 acres had burned.
Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue crews also assisted in battling the fire.
No injuries were reported, and there were no reports of damage to homes or buildings.
Crews plan to monitor the area overnight.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
