Crews put out fire in downtown Shelton

SHELTON, Wash. — Central Mason Fire crews put out a fire in downtown Shelton on Tuesday, said Central Mason Fire and Emergency Medical Services in a news release.

At 12:30 p.m., crews responded to a fire at a house. They arrived in minutes and found fire and heavy smoke coming from the upstairs windows.

Crews quickly started extinguishing the fire and searched for occupants. All the occupants made it out of the house.

An adult man suffering from smoke inhalation was treated by Central Mason medics on scene and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle by helicopter.

Central Mason crews, along with crews from Fire District 11 and Fire District 4, worked over two hours to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

“A big thank you to Mason County Fire District 11, District 4, the Shelton Police Department, PUD 3, Cascade Natural Gas, and Shelton Public Works for assisting Central Mason Fire on this incident,” said Central Mason Fire and EMS.
