SEATTLE — The Coast Guard on Wednesday morning removed a Cessna 150 from the water after it crashed off Alki Beach on Tuesday afternoon.
The small, two-seat plane made a relatively smooth landing on the water but flipped forward around 4:30 p.m., about 50 feet off Alki Point.
The pilot, a 66-year-old man, was the only person on board. He swam to shore and was unhurt.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating what caused the plane to go down.
