UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Detectives with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a robbery suspect.
Officials said the man stole several items from a Quick Stop Mart in University Place on April 28.
Deputies said when confronted by an employee, the suspect “stuck his hand inside his coat and told the employee he had a concealed weapon and he didn’t want to hurt the clerk.”
The suspect then fled the scene on a red bicycle, officials said.
“While this incident may have started as just a theft, it became a robbery when the suspect threatened the victim that he had a weapon,” an official wrote on the department’s Facebook page.
Anyone with information about the robbery and/or the suspect is asked to contact the Pierce County Sheriff Department 's non-emergency line at (253) 798-4721.
