BLEWETT PASS, Wash. — Deputies are searching for a man in connection with the disappearance of a Kent man.
Ian Eckles, 41, was last seen in Kent on May 16. Deputies said cellphone records showed him in Kent at about 4 p.m. May 16 but no data after that.
Eckles was headed to Cle Elum to meet with friends in the Liberty area to go hunting when he disappeared, according to deputies.
Over the weekend, deputies searched the area of Blewett Pass near Mineral Springs and spotted a man who was in possession of Eckles’ Toyota FJ Cruiser. The man ran away from deputies and remains at large.
Investigators also said the suspect was in possession of another vehicle reportedly stolen from Fall City.
That suspect was identified as 34-year-old Jorge O. Alcantara-Gonzalez. Investigators said he is considered potentially armed and dangerous. He is described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, has short-cropped black hair and was last seen wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants. He may also be in possession of a tent, described as a red MSR brand Hubba Hubba model dome-style tent with red poles and a light-gray rainfly.
Deputies are asking people to stay away from the area as they continue their search.
