(Douglas County Sheriff's Office)

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies are searching for a missing 81-year-old man whose boat was seen empty on the Columbia River.

Officials said they saw a green Alumacraft boat with a Honda motor, later identified as Charles Baker’s vessel, drifting on the river Wednesday. It was 5 miles above Chief Joe Dam.

Baker’s 1990 blue Dodge pickup and boat trailer were also found at the Army Corps of Engineers boat launch above the dam, officials said. Baker was last seen Monday.

A Facebook post by the Sheriff’s Office shows Baker’s photo, which shows him as being white with gray hair and blue eyes.

Investigators do not suspect foul play in Baker's disappearance.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who saw Baker launch his boat or operate it on the river Monday to call 509-884-0941.
