CASHMERE, Wash. — A 70-year-old woman from Cashmere was arrested early Saturday morning after she reportedly called 911 and said she had killed her mother, Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett said.
Burnett said the woman called about 2:05 a.m. from the 400 block of Pioneer Avenue.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they arrested the woman.
She was taken to the Sheriff’s Office and was questioned, officials said.
Investigators did not say what led to the incident or if there was a weapon found at the scene.
The woman is believed to have acted alone and there was no threat to the public, investigators said.
Burnett said she was booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center for investigation of first-degree murder.
