Deputies: Woman caught burglarizing storage units near Kent

KING COUNTY, Wash. — A woman caught burglarizing storage units at a facility near Kent was arrested Sunday, the King County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called to the public storage facility in the 23600 block of Military Road in unincorporated King County at 10 a.m., after management saw a woman stealing items from storage units.

Deputies arrived and detained a 39-year-old woman who was inside an unsecured storage locker. Police said she had debit cards and identification that belonged to other women in her purse.

She also had tin snips, pliers and pry bars, which the sheriff’s office said were typical burglary tools.

Investigators said the woman is believed to have burglarized 13 units before she was arrested.

Deputies said that for the 12th time since 2008, the woman was booked into the King County Jail. The latest incident was for investigation of commercial burglary.

The sheriff’s office said more charges are likely as detectives with King County’s Criminal Investigations Division continue to investigate.
