Detectives search for answers after man found dead next to children’s park

SEATTLE — Seattle homicide detectives are investigating a suspicious death that happened in Seattle on Sunday morning around 6 a.m.

Officers found a dead man on a sidewalk next to John C. Little Sr. Park in the New Holly neighborhood.

Neighbors called 911 for help when they saw the man who was not moving. As investigators searched through the scene, they found evidence of a shooting.

According to police, the victim appears to be in his 20s or 30s.

The cause of the death is currently under investigation.

We spoke with a friend of the victim who said he saw the man lying on the ground in in the park before police even arrived.

“And I did not realize it was one of our friends laying there,” said the victim’s friend, Tayen.

He said his friend was a peaceful and happy guy and that the victim’s family is still processing the death.

The man’s death isn’t the only one Seattle Police are investigating.

Investigators are trying to find out what led to the death of a man who was found in a Wallingford intersection, also on Sunday morning.
