Dog dies after fire spreads from garage into Marysville home

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — A family lost their pet in an overnight fire in Marysville.

The fire started around midnight in the 6700 block of 37th Place Northeast. It began in the garage and quickly spread into the home. The garage was significantly damaged and smoke damage was present throughout the house.

Four people were inside the home at the time but made it out safely. The family's dog died in the fire.

The Snohomish County fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
