Two people are dead after a motorcycle crossed the center line Saturday on State Route 101, investigators said.
Troopers said the motorcycle hit another motorcycle shortly before noon south of Brinnon near Fulton Creek Road. That is part of Jefferson County, about 60 miles and a ferry ride west of Seattle.
"There are no detours available in this area," Trooper Chelsea Hodgson wrote Saturday afternoon. "If you can, please avoid. We thank you for your patience as we conduct a thorough investigation."
Both riders were the only occupants, she said.
The motorcycle that allegedly crossed the centerline drove northbound into the path of a southbound motorcycle, resulting in the head on crash, Hodgson said.
The road closure continued into the 3 p.m. hour.
The riders' names were not immediately released.
