LACEY, Wash. — A rolled-over double tanker semi-truck caused backups on southbound Interstate 5 in Lacey throughout Monday.
The crash happened near Carpenter Road Northeast at about 6 a.m. Monday.
The tanker truck was carrying gasoline. When it rolled over, half of its load spilled, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The other half remains in the tanker.
Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Robert Reyer.
At about 11:30 a.m., a tanker truck began working to offload the remaining fuel from the rolled-over tanker involved in the collision.
At 5:35 p.m., WSDOT announced that all lanes had reopened.
