TUKWILA, Wash. — A car has major front-end damage after it crashed into a building in Tukwila early Monday.
The four-door Hyundai crashed into a credit union building at Southcenter Boulevard and 53rd Avenue at around 4:30 a.m.
The car jumped a curb, knocked down a light post, and came to rest down some stairs at the corner of the building.
The driver was not at the scene when officers arrived. The registered owner was found in the area but officers could not definitively prove that the owner had been behind the wheel at the time of the crash, Tukwila Police spokesperson Victor Masters said.
Masters said the driver was believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
When a KIRO 7 News crew arrived, the car was being towed from the scene.
