TACOMA, Wash. — An investigation is underway after two people were killed in a wrong-way crash in Tacoma early Sunday morning.

The crash happened just before 1 a.m. on the northbound ramp from Interstate 5 to Interstate 705, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A 37-year-old driver was going south in a Ford pickup truck in the northbound lanes of I-705, approaching the ramp to I-5, when they hit a Honda Accord that was traveling northbound, killing the driver, a 20-year-old man.

Troopers arrested the wrong-way driver on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Two passengers in the Honda, a passenger in the Ford, and the suspect were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma to be treated for their injuries.

On Monday, the WSP confirmed an additional person had died in the crash — a 17-year-old boy who was one of the passengers in the Honda.

The road was closed for over four hours while authorities investigated.

Friends confirm with KIRO 7 the 20-year-old who died in this crash was Levi Moser. His friend Zach Greene sent a statement about how much Moser meant to him and everyone that he knew:

Levi and Benjamin: I couldn’t gather myself to talk in front of a camera about you, especially something like this. You made everyone smile and feel welcomed. There wasn’t a day spent with you that was down or dark. You were the light in all of our darkest moments, and we can’t thank you enough for spending the time you had on earth with us. You had so much strength and courage that I couldn’t even hold a candle to. You are a good guy and an even greater brother. I wish I could have given you your flowers sooner. I’ll miss you guys. I love you forever.”
