Drivers who use Interstate 405 near Newcastle should find alternate routes or expect delays this weekend, as Washington State Department of Transportation crews work on several projects.
Starting at 11 p.m. Friday through 10 p.m. Saturday, all lanes in both directions of I-405 at Lake Washington Boulevard Southeast, and 112th Avenue Southeast (exit 9) in Newcastle will be closed.
Detours will be in place using on and off ramps at exit 9, but drivers should expect heavy delays, WSDOT said.
WSDOT also announced that the southbound I-405 exit to Lake Washington Boulevard Southeast and 112th Avenue Southeast will be closed from 11 p.m. Thursday through 5 p.m. Friday. Southbound I-405 will be reduced to two lanes between Coal Creek Parkway and Lake Washington Boulevard during this time.
From 11 p.m. Saturday through 9 p.m. Sunday, the Lake Washington Boulevard on ramp to northbound I-405 will be closed.
