SEATTLE — Seattle musician Duff McKagan and his wife Susan donated 1,000 masks to UW Medicine.

The masks will be distributed to child care providers who are caring for the children of UW Medicine staff, and are intended for personal use between work and home.

“Duff and Susan McKagan’s donation shines light on a growing need for essential workers – like those caring for the children of health care workers – to have access to personal masks to protect themselves between home and work,” hospital officials said. “This is particularly critical as our communities begin to reopen and social contact increases.”

The masks will be delivered Friday morning.

McKagan is best known as the founding bassist of Guns N’ Roses. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 as a member of Guns N’ Roses.
