Eastern Washington police officer witnesses unique way to tow car

A driver was cited in eastern Washington after an Omak police officer spotted him towing a car in a unique way.

According to photos from Washington State Patrol trooper John Bryant, the driver managed to fit most of a car into the back of a U-Haul truck.

The rear of a red SUV was hanging out the back of the U-Haul, with a long strap holding the towed vehicle in place, Bryant said.

The driver was cited for failing to secure a load with safety chains.

He was fined $139 and his license was suspended, according to the trooper.

The U-Haul rental truck was long overdue and nearly reported as stolen, he added.

The rental company requested that their vehicle be impounded along with the SUV.
