Deputies responded around 10 a.m. to a report of a suicide in the 15900 block of 52nd Place West after a family member called.

Officials believe the man is 78-year-old Terrence Miller, who was on trial for the 1972 murder of 20-year-old Jody Loomis.

After a 46-year search, Miller, who was identified as a suspect through genetic genealogy from DNA extracted from one of the victim’s boots and DNA from a coffee cup discarded by the suspect, was arrested at his home in April 2019.

Miller pleaded not guilty after he was charged.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office will confirm identification of the body as well as cause and manner of death.
