SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Police Department says a parking enforcement vehicle was hit Thursday after a driver overshot a turn.

Two enforcement officers were onboard at the time but weren’t seriously hurt.

It happened just before 2 p.m.

Police say a 95-year-old man was headed eastbound on Northeast 54th Street when he tried to turn right onto 25th Avenue Northeast and ended up hitting the vehicle head-on.

One parking enforcement was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated for minor injuries from an airbag and seatbelt.

Neither impairment nor speed are suspected factors in the crash.

KIRO 7 spoke to a worker at the nearby Grease Monkey, who says he witnessed the crash.

“Both cars’ fronts were caved in. They had to bring two to three tow trucks to clean it up out here,” Bryan Connor said.

He told KIRO 7 that the road had some slush and ice earlier in the day.

“Could be from the weather, the roads have been bad all day. Hard to say, really,” he said.

“I just hope everybody is okay and that nobody was seriously injured.”
