SEATTLE — Elysian Brewing, which helped pave the way for Seattle’s beer scene, is celebrating 25 years in Seattle’s Capitol Hill.

Since first opening its doors in May of 1996, Elysian Brewing has experimented and innovated, making a name for itself among beer lovers.

“25 years is a long time. A quarter century of making beer. It’s been 25 years of fun. It’s good,” Joe Bisacca said.

Cofounder Bisacca is still at the helm after selling to Anheuser Busch in 2015. Even though the beer giant now owns the company, Bisacca said he’s never forgotten the company’s early Capitol Hill beginnings.

“That’s one of the things coming back to the roots here brings that back to us. That’s the thing that made us who we are and the minute that we lose it, I think we fall apart,” Bisacca added.

To celebrate a quarter century of brewing, Elysian has come out of with a limited edition box filled with 25 items. Some are nostalgic reminders of their early beginnings like a mixed tape. And, of course, there’s beer which showcases several throwback label designs from over the years.

It’s a nod to the past even as Bisacca looks forward to the future.

“All of the employees who have worked for us over the years and all of the customers who have come through the doors. Everybody left their imprint on this place,” Bisacca said. “We are who we are because of those folks.”

This box is only available to people who live in Washington. It costs $96 bucks to commemorate the year Elysian started, back in 1996.
