EVERETT, Wash. — Everett Police are looking for the person who stabbed a 14-year-old boy in Lions Park around 1:30 Tuesday morning.
The teen ended up on a neighbor’s doorstep, banging on the door for help.
“I looked at the camera of my phone and somebody was crumbled up out here and saying, ‘I need help, I need help,’” said the neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.
Police say it was a targeted attack, with the teen stabbed multiple times by someone he knows.
The neighbor, who called 911, says the victim was covered in blood and having a hard time breathing.
“He was bleeding heavily from the chest and stomach, and he was naked,” she said.
The teen was rushed to the hospital for surgery. A police search for his attacker came up empty.
Meanwhile, violence around the park is something that has neighbors concerned.
“It’s scary – especially coming here all the time. I have teenage grandkids but they’re not out at one in the morning, walking around – I won’t have that,” said Tina Lewis, an Everett resident.
Police say they’re hoping to make the area safer with increased patrols and visibility.
“This area is one of the places we’re looking into for how we’re really going to target youth violence,” said Officer Natalie Given.
