EVERETT — On March 7, Sable Rodriguez’s roommates told police they recently evicted him, claiming Rodriguez was suffering from decreased mental stability and increased erratic behavior.
Police say Rodriguez entered the home and attacked an ex-roommate with a large metal tool.
The victim attempted to defend himself with a shovel, but Rodriguez is accused of taking the shovel and beating the victim with it.
Rodriguez left once the roommates called 911.
The roommate suffered significant injuries and was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Everett detectives say they plan to recommend upgrading the criminal charges from assault to murder.
Rodriguez is currently in custody.
