Everett stabbing concerns commuters

Man stabbed at Pizza Hut parking lot in Everett

There was concern Wednesday among commuters along 128th Street Southwest in Everett after a man was stabbed Tuesday night.

Some commuters like Angela Pitt, say the area could use some safety improvements.

“Needs more lighting, more personnel I guess,” she told KIRO 7.

Pitt rides the bus from the area several mornings a week, but she’s more concerned for her safety along the route, especially after a bus driver was stabbed to death in December.

“The guy (suspect in December stabbing) that found him (bus driver) stabbed him on the E-line,” she said. “If I feel like I’m going to be assaulted, I put on a mean face! My bus face is what I call it!”

Julian Gugger takes the bus to school from the area where the attack took place and was alarmed but also not surprised by the incident, “it definitely could feel safer, there could be a police or someone out here patrolling.”

At least one commuter, Travis Lafay, says having a lot of traffic in the area is not a deterrent for violence.

“Bad things can happen pretty much anywhere,” he said.
