KING COUNTY, Wash. — An EvergreenHealth emergency room doctor has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and is in critical condition, KIRO 7 was told by the hospital Sunday.
The facility has handled a number of coronavirus cases from Life Care Center in Kirkland, which is at the center of Washington’s outbreak. Twenty-nine deaths have been linked to the nursing facility as of Sunday.
EvergreenHealth issued this statement about the physician, “EvergreenHealth is providing care for one of our physicians who has a confirmed case of COVID-19. He is in critical condition but stable. Out of respect for our patient’s privacy and that of his family, there is nothing more we can share at this time.”
The American College of Emergency Physicians said the doctor and hospital followed the proper procedures.

KIRO 7 is working to find out if the doctor was exposed at work or somewhere else.
