An Excessive Heat Warning goes into effect at noon Wednesday through 7 p.m. Saturday. Expect highs in the 90s to 100 degrees at peak heat.

For Wednesday, highs will be in the 80s for many but a few low 90s south of Puget Sound like around Olympia and points south. We could also see some hazy skies in the south Thursday from the fire burning northwest of Yakima, but low-level smoke impacts aren’t expected.

The coast will have significant cooling on Saturday but it’ll be another day of 80s to low 90s around much of Puget Sound before the cool air surges in on Sunday with highs in the 70s to low 80s with a few clouds.

Thursday and Friday, expect high temperatures around the interior of Western Washington including the Puget Sound region and the I-5 corridor in the 90s. Temperatures around Everett and Bellingham could reach 90 on Thursday and upper 80s to low 90s on Friday. For the Seattle and central Sound region, expect highs in the low to mid 90s both days with some upper 90s in interior areas south and nearest the Cascades.

Overnight lows will only get to the mid to upper 60s, leaving little chance for temperatures to really cool off.

The NWS reminds everyone to drink fluids, stay in air conditioning when possible, avoid the sun and check on relatives and neighbors.

Here are places where you can keep cool.
