On August 1, 1976, the Seattle Seahawks made history.
Forty years ago today, the team played their first-ever game against the San Francisco 49ers in the Kingdome.
Scott Haynes was there.
"That would be the game that first made me a football fan," said Haynes, who was five or six years old at the time.

"It was in later years, as I got a little older, that I appreciated that I'd been at the first game," said Haynes.
It’s a memory he has cherished forever. His father, Robert, took Scott to the preseason game.
"Even though I was just a little kid, I think myself and my father and the other 60 thousand people that were there – I think that technically makes us among the first 12th men," said Haynes, with a chuckle.
Scott says he truly is one of the first 12s – since he was in seat number 12.
It was last Christmas that Scott’s dad surprised him by giving him the ticket stubs and publications from that day.

“He knows I’ve been a Seahawk fanatic,” said Haynes.
“I had no idea he had this stuff.”
