EVERETT, Wash. — One person is dead after a two-car crash in north Everett Monday morning, according to Washington State Patrol.
It happened near Marine View Drive around 5:15 a.m.
Southbound I-5 was closed at the scene while the crash was investigated and a fuel spill was cleaned up. The freeway has since reopened.
All southbound traffic was diverted onto SR 529 into Everett. Traffic was backed up 10 miles.
The southbound lanes were expected to reopen around 8:30 a.m. but the crash was not cleared until 9:30 a.m.
