CLALLAM COUNTY, Wash. — A fatal crash shut down both directions of State Route 101 on Saturday in Clallam County.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said the crash happened about 4:01 p.m. on the highway, located 2 miles east of Sequim.
While crews worked to clear the crash, there were no available detours and drivers were warned to avoid the area. There was a backup in each direction that was a few miles long.
The road was opened back up about 6:34 p.m.
Officials did not say what led to the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
The crash is under investigation.
CONT’D.... there are suspicions of impairment on the causing driver and the first vehicle struck. The driver and occupants of the third vehicle were transported with no impairment suspected.
