EVERETT, Wash. — A man is dead after a confrontation with a homeowner in Everett.
Everett police said they were called to reports of gunfire before 8:15 p.m. Friday at a home in the 1800 block of Chestnut Street.
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot multiple times, officials said.
Officials said lifesaving measures were performed but the man died at the scene.
In an initial report, police said a man was returning home when he had a confrontation with another man in his front yard. The homeowner yelled for his wife to call 911 and then multiple shots were fired.
Police said a possible intruder was shot and killed by the homeowner.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of the man’s death, officials said.
