PUYALLUP, Wash. — A 76-year-old man was arrested after police say he shot and killed his adult son Thursday afternoon in Puyallup.
When police arrived at the scene in the 2700 block of 9th Avenue Southwest, they talked the shooting suspect into coming out of the house, where he was taken into custody.
“Initially he was in the residence when officers arrived. Dispatch was able to talk him through exiting the residence and that is when the officers took over commands and were able to take him into custody without a problem,” Puyallup police Capt. Dan Pashon said.
Police said they found the 32-year-old victim inside the home with shotgun wounds and performed lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Detectives remained at the scene for some time to investigate.
