SEATTLE — The Seattle branch of the FBI increased a reward to $20,000 for a man who’s been a fugitive for the last 20 years.
Liban Abdulkadir Sheikh, a Somali man in his 40s, is wanted in a 2002 shooting in Lakewood that killed a man and injured a woman.
Sheikh is accused of forcing his way into a unit at the Meadowbrook Apartments on 146th Street Southwest on Nov. 27, 2002.
Prosecutors say he fatally shot a man six times in the back of the head. He’s also accused of shooting the victim’s girlfriend in her back and leg.
Sheikh then left the state.
Sheikh is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, burglary and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
Local and federal warrants were issued for his arrest.
FBI officials said Sheikh was later seen in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He also has ties to, or may have traveled to:
- Columbus, Ohio
- Surrey and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
- Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Oslo, Norway
- London, England
- Somalia
