Female WSU student jailed after dorm room stabbing

A Washington State University (WSU) student was arrested early Monday morning following a stabbing incident at Orton Hall on the Pullman campus, according to a WSU Police Department news release.

The incident happened at approximately 1:18 a.m. at the residence hall at 1475 Southeast Olympia Ave.

When officers arrived, WSU police discovered a 20-year-old male with a knife wound to his left arm.

The investigation revealed that the victim had been allegedly stabbed by Tatiana Martinez, a 20-year-old female WSU student and resident of Orton Hall.

Martinez was located inside the dorm, arrested, and booked into Whitman County Jail on charges of Assault 2nd Degree.

Police also recovered the suspected weapon at the scene.

Pullman Police officers assisted WSU Police during the incident.

The victim, also 20 years old and a resident of Shoreline, was transported to Pullman Regional Hospital. He refused treatment and was subsequently released.
